Early Music Day Schedule of Events

Early Music Day is on March 20, 2011 from 12-3 pm!

Ongoing Events:

Instrument demonstrations/performances in various rooms
Featuring Baroque vocal music, harpsichord, fortepiano, organ, clavichord, virginal, Baroque strings, Baroque timpani, recorder, Baroque guitar, Baroque harp, and more!


Keyboard players, bring your music!

12:15-1 pm
Renaissance D
ance Workshop”
Learn how people danced in the 1500s: fun, easy to learn dance steps accompanied by live music!
All ages/no experience necessary.

"Stony Brook Early Music Choir”

Enjoy the soothing sound of medieval chant and organum, performed by an
à capella choir.

Baroque Jam Session”
For all musicians and instruments (bring your own instrument, or play the school’s harpsichord or Baroque percussion). Music is provided. Casual atmosphere.

“Recital Renditions”

Professor Haas and his students perform a potpourri of harpsichord music.

Concert "The Gift of Song” at 3 pm in the Recital Hall:
Ready for the grand finale?
Come to hear some of the most endearing vocal music from the Baroque period for singers and instruments. This concert features cantatas, songs, and excerpts from operatic masterpieces.
